Getting Married in Provincetown

Let us help make your most important event a blessed one.

At the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House we are dedicated to helping committed couples celebrate their relationships with joy and integrity. As a denomination, Unitarian Universalists have affirmed same-gender love through services of union since 1986. And people have flocked to our magnificent sanctuary for weddings since it was built in 1847. Since May 17, 2004, we have been privileged to officiate at the legal marriage ceremonies of hundreds of gay and lesbian couples from Massachusetts and all over the world.

There is a 3-day period between applying and receiving your license in Massachusetts. For more information on the legal requirements for getting married in Massachusetts, please see the wedding licenses page on the Provincetown website.

Our senior minister Rev. Kate Wilkinson or one of our chaplains will help you create the ceremony that reflects your spiritual, religious or philosophical views and affirms your values and the strength of your shared love. If you do not live locally, they will help you through the process of designing your own special event by telephone or email. We take your commitment seriously. Because of the time and care given to each couple, ceremonies should be scheduled at least one month in advance. You may choose to have your service in our beautiful and historic Meeting House, in our garden, on the beach, or in the location of your choice.
